I've been told it was common in other "games" to figure out that some other, bigger thing was in motion, but it isn't as though we had anything to gather little hints or clues about.
In some ways, that would have made it easier with one less thing for everyone to stress over, but on the other hand, having to go through eight weeks of trial for....

It's certainly not a normal, everyday occurrence. Some would likely still feel soured knowing there were others out there who endured the same length of idiotic trials and walked away with more for it.
There does seem to be an abundance of us in places like this. Hell was crawling with them.
