[ Bubbles are awful! The ordeal of being known is terrible, but she isn't going to hide. It's not necessarily a matter of pride, but she doesn't want to let the Prism win, so as she sees Vax and a bubble descending at a terribly fast rate, she sighs. ]
Whatever you see....
[ Well, he can make his own judgment. She doesn't hesitate to release them.

[ experiencing this memory - being in someone else's shoes - is not unusual, anymore. not after the past couple days.
...and as he steps out of it, a little dazed, the word disgusting echoing in his ears, he thinks first not of himself, but of another girl. of casandra de rolo; though he was not the main part of her story, he watched her and percy's struggle from close to their sides.
he takes a deep breath, reaching up absently to rub at his chest. disgusting, is what sticks with him the most. becoming someone you don't want to be. the weight of a family name - one vax threw off of his shoulders, that never really belonged to him, anyway - is not one that is heavy on him, and he counts himself lucky for it.
(and maybe that's what the most familiar. just like father. the idea hits close to home, makes him rankle up at the prospect of ever being told such a thing. it would be -
disgusting.) ]
... y'want me to forget about it? [ ... it's a genuine question, quiet. ]
Oh, fuck - [ well! WELL!!! vax swears and does the first thing he can think of, just immediately summoning up a little splash of marine. it's not a lot - he drops it on his cloak and immediately offers the damp fabric to her and her. liar fire. help. ]
This is kind of cute that he doesn't try to spray her directly. It's appreciated. She's alarmed by the fire and that it doesn't hurt, but she takes the fabric immediately and tries to put out her lying flames. It's sort of working. ]
[ vax knows exactly what caused that seeing as how he was talking to crow when the heliotrope apartment went up in harmless flames, but he does not say that. it is not a feeling, thankfully, so at least he doesn't light on fire.
he supplies her with a little more water if she needs it, though, mostly just trying to be helpful, though that does allow a moment of quiet to pass.
and, eventually, not looking at her, he says - ] ...That kind of father's the fucking worst, huh. [ with the sort of wryness to it that indicates vax might just have a similar problem.
he gets it. the expectations, the sort of horror of "you're just like your father", the gut twisting feeling that can come along with it. syldor vessar is maybe one of the worst people alive (though, his feelings have moved like one tick towards positivity in the past few years; maybe only out of a sense of needing to tie up loose ends.) there's no commentary on roxana's behavior towards her mother, really - just that expectation that resonated towards the end. ]
