Oh, fuck - [ well! WELL!!! vax swears and does the first thing he can think of, just immediately summoning up a little splash of marine. it's not a lot - he drops it on his cloak and immediately offers the damp fabric to her and her. liar fire. help. ]
This is kind of cute that he doesn't try to spray her directly. It's appreciated. She's alarmed by the fire and that it doesn't hurt, but she takes the fabric immediately and tries to put out her lying flames. It's sort of working. ]
[ vax knows exactly what caused that seeing as how he was talking to crow when the heliotrope apartment went up in harmless flames, but he does not say that. it is not a feeling, thankfully, so at least he doesn't light on fire.
he supplies her with a little more water if she needs it, though, mostly just trying to be helpful, though that does allow a moment of quiet to pass.
and, eventually, not looking at her, he says - ] ...That kind of father's the fucking worst, huh. [ with the sort of wryness to it that indicates vax might just have a similar problem.
he gets it. the expectations, the sort of horror of "you're just like your father", the gut twisting feeling that can come along with it. syldor vessar is maybe one of the worst people alive (though, his feelings have moved like one tick towards positivity in the past few years; maybe only out of a sense of needing to tie up loose ends.) there's no commentary on roxana's behavior towards her mother, really - just that expectation that resonated towards the end. ]
