Of course. As if something like this isn't enough of a show already, they had to make it an even bigger one.

The first was an accident. Then, some people did it because they wanted to. After that... Threats, mostly. [ he crosses his arms as he recalls them; ] First it was, what, being erased from our own worlds? Memory and all. Then it was... sent specific. That your world and those of the people on your team would be lost. Then on top of all of that, there was some information going around that every team needed to kill once if we wanted to be able to go home. [ it was. a lot. ] I don't know how much of it was true, if any.

The whole theme was "heroes", so when someone got caught they'd label them a villain and set up a public execution. So of course they made it a show.
