See, we've never been very far from death. People think we're just being weird and religious about it or whatever, but our ancestors and all the Sarkaz who've died-- their souls were a lot closer to us than anyone else would know. They'd join the myriad souls and go be with all the other dusty stiffs who couldn't let go of the shit that happened to them or all of their suffering or whatever, and then it'd still be our problem! It's like... like just knowing they're angry, we could feel it, we were connected to the myriad since before we were even born.
So it was just this vicious cycle, you know? Get born from all these pissed off souls stuck in the past. Live in a world where everyone else would pretty much be fine with it if we all up and died, that'd just be convenient for 'em. Die, go join them again in their eternal bad vibes, and keep inflicting them on the rest of the living Sarkaz.
It sounds like your race was set up to be miserable. Is the cycle broken yet? It seemed like what you did in the memory was trying to break free from it.
It seems like it...? Her Highness freed the myriad and took them... somewhere. I don't know what happens to us now when we die, but I know the Sarkaz souls aren't trapped anymore.

... but that doesn't just erase the fact most Sarkaz have been surrounded by war, either. We've still got to prove to the stubborn old fucks that we don't need it.
There's enough to cause some trouble... but we've got the Liches pretty solidly on our side, and we'll probably be able to get the Banshees' help if we really need it. The Vampires' crusty old king is dead, the Nachzehrers are just going to be a constant problem no matter what... yeah, so the royal court tribes are allllmost all accounted for.
Babel's busy working with the Liches to try and get people educated on what else they can do with their skills, set up writing-to-voice spells on all the message boards... but that's all a totally separate thing from me!
