... admittedly, vax is. slightly better than he was last week but he's still really not great. he's coming back out for the evening in casual clothes instead of his armor, but it looks like he's stopping into the cafe to maybe fetch something for someone else. the vibes are - melancholy, quiet, though there's a little flicker of warmth on sight.

he looks to roxana, and gives her a little wave. ]

Hey, Rox.

...You know anything about tea?

[ It was not fun!

Roxana's vibes are calm, composed. She smiles in greeting, and there is a cup of tea in front of her. How topical. ]

If you want something calming, go with something with chamomile or lemon balm.

[ ... it's not quite hesitance, but a boyish sort of unknowing in his voice, as he ducks his head. ]

...y'think Vin'd like either of those?

[ he's so, so worried about his baby sister :( ]

[ This would be cute if the times weren't so trying and bleak. ]

Chamomile is made from flowers. And... even if she might not like to drink it, I think she'd like to look at a blooming tea.

[ She gets up to go the counter and orders something like this. ]

... Thanks, Rox. [ it's a very genuine thank you, quiet, and he'll shift to wait for it, glancing over at her. ] Rubes told me she was really happy to stay with you and Doc, Thursday night. Thanks for keeping an eye out for her.

She's a sweet girl. I wasn't expecting her company since I expect Jiuqing to be in the medical bay from Thursday on, but it was nice.

[ There's a certain innocence that Ruby has that Roxana doesn't usually interact with since her family is full of people who are the opposite of her. ]

[ a very, very good kid. there's that warm feeling of affection there, briefly, familiar and soft. ]

... We've got some good fucking people, in this shitty place. [ too good for this shitty place, maybe, implied. ]

Too good for this place, and they shouldn't have to endure it.

If they can keep as they are despite everything here, I'll consider that a win.
