[IT'S DOJO TIME. Kashuu's here, dressed very reasonably for a change, and actually doesn't seem to be shirking his self-appointed duty as instructor despite how much he usually whines and gripes and complains about anything that makes him Uncute™. Sometimes, the sword really comes through...

Whenever Roxana comes by to check the place out, though, he'll pause in whatever he'd been doing to raise a hand! And then trot her way, reaching out for her hand on compulsive second nature.]

[ She sees his hand reach for hers, doesn't exactly sigh, and lets him grab it. She pats him on the head ]

[HE BEAMS IMMEDIATELY. Truly there is no one in the world more satisfied by a single simple headpat than Kashuu... Though he's also absolutely living for this week and the fact that everyone who's normally not up to his level of tactileness is at least a little closer.]

That's true, that's true! Did you want a demonstration before we start, or d'you wanna jump right in?

[ Roxana prefers touching people on her own terms, so touch week is making her feel things that are at odds with each other, but if Kashuu is enjoying it, it's cute to see him enjoy the attention. ]

Mm, o-kay! You got it. I'll start with the basics for sparring!

[AND HE WILL. i aki hate describing fighting but basically it's about as graceful and well-honed as you'd expect from a 500 year old sword. He goes through the moves smoothly, and slowed down to the degree that she'll be able to watch what he's doing easily while still getting the gist of how it's meant to look at a more normal clip. It's a series of strikes and blocks much as you'd except with the typical back-and-forth form type of sparring.]

[ She will copy him slowly but surely. Her form isn't bad at all.

There's something to be said about natural grace. ]

[Sugoi... At some point he'll comment on it, a simple:]

Wow - you pick up on stuff super fast and your moves always look so nice! That's something some guys who practice for years can't say.

[Why is he always so mean.]

[ She smiles a little. He could be meaner. He could be a lot meaner. ]

I don't like arguing about hard work versus talent because hard work has taken me far, but poise is sometimes inherent.

[That is not untrue.]

Hah, well, you're right about that. Trust me! Hard work can get people real far, but some people just got it.

I won't argue this. There are some who are unfairly talented at certain things.

Yeah... My old master was like that. [Willingly talking about Okita Souji??? Sometimes a peanut does grow.] He was a prodigy - got his certificate of mastery of his school of swordsmanship before he was eighteen and everything. People like that don't always get how hard it is for the guys who aren't talented, though.

[Said with a sigh...]

[ she doesn't know he had an aversion to talking about souji. good for you, peanut. ]

It's hard to understand something you've never known. Prodigies are often lonely because of that.

[He's doing the best any sword can do without a therapist.]

...Yeah. [Though he knows Souji was lonely for other reasons, not least of which was being a wholeass assassin.] Well! There are goods and bads to everything, I guess. Or whatever the saying is.

We all have to do our best with what we're giving.

[ For better or worse. ]

But you should show me your best. Let me see how beautiful you can move with a sword. Move as you usually would.

Kashuu just nods at the first part, though, in complete agreement. What else can they do? As for the second, with a little quirking smile:]

Yeah? I'll show you what I've got, then!

[AND HE WILL. A little demonstration just for her... Obviously it's not as pristine as it would be with his actual blade, but it still reflects 500+ years of Being A Sword. His style is described by others as both vigilant and wild, and he's quite elegant with his bladework. He'd be even more elegant if it wasn't such an aggressive style, but sometimes, you're just a stabby lad beneath your makeup and fancy clothes.]

[ It's a little odd to hear someone refer to themselves in third person like that, and it makes sense in context, but it takes a second for Roxana to nod. ]
